Adding Python to the PID Segment

To add Python to the PID segment:

• Double-click the PID segment in the Workspace. The PID Segment definition window appears.
• Locate Field 3 - Patient Identifier List. This third field is where you are getting the PatientID from.
• Click the Inbound Script ellipsis button for Field 3. The Editing Script window appears.

• In the Editing Script window, add the following Python code:

PatientID = value;

• Open the PatientObservation table.
• Locate the Field 4 - PID, and click the ellipsis button under Inbound Script.
• In the Editing Script window, add the following Python code (as shown below):
