Cannot Load Control tcpServer; License Not Found

You will receive this message if the Microsoft Winsock Control has not been installed correctly.

To resolve this problem, there are two methods you can try:

First Method:

• Check that the mswinsck.ocx file is actually on your computer.
• Use the Find Files or Folders window from your Start menu to verify the file is on your machine.
• If it is, try to register it using a command line utility called regsvr32.exe, which should be located in your Windows\System32 directory.

Type the following at the command line:

> regsvr32 mswinsck.ocx

Make sure that regsvr32 is in your PATH statement and that you are in the same directory as mswinsck.ocx.

Second Method

• Download a utility called VBC.EXE from http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q181/8/54.asp. This utility fixes a faulty VB 5.0 Professional installation.

A similar utility exists for Visual Basic 6.0. Search the Microsoft knowledge base for more information.
