The aim of this tutorial is to take you step-by-step through the process of developing a working application using Chameleon.

The application you develop will:

• Capture an HL7 message from a network;
• Parse the message and classify it according to pre-defined message types;
• Extract user-defined data from the message;
• Process the data; and
• Acknowledge to the sender that the message was received and processed.
