Creating a New Composite

There are four ways to create a new composite:

• Import the appropriate segment that makes use of this composite;
• Create a new composite using the right-click context menu in the Workspace;
• Click the Composite icon in the toolbar; or
• Create a new composite using Workspace > New > Composite from the main menu.

	This section shows you how to create a new composite using the last option.

To create a new composite

• Click Workspace > New > Composite. The New Composite appears in the Workspace.
• Double-click the new composite in the Workspace. The Composite Definition window appears.
• Define the new composite as you wish. A Composite definition consists of the list of basic data types and other composites that each composite consists of.

Defining a New Composite

	Reminder A Composite may consist of a primitive data type (String, Integer, Double etc.), other composites or date time formats. Composites cannot have a recursive reference to themselves.
