Default Date Time Format Syntax

The default syntax for the default Date Time Format is as follows:

The above definition means:

	Square brackets [] means that the enclosed syntax is optional. Using the above example, that means the only mandatory item is the year. A string like 1992 will be considered a valid time equal to 1.1.1992.0:00:00, where 1.1 represents January 1 (default date).

1992020412322.111 parsed according to the timestamp definition will be:

• Year = 1992;
• Month = 02;
• Day = 04; and
• Time = 12:23:22.111, where .111 means milliseconds.

The Fields Optional checkbox should be checked if you want to process incomplete Timestamps (e.g. ones that do not specify milliseconds).
