Deploying Chameleon on Unix

This section shows you how to deploy the application you have written using Chameleon on a Unix-based system. iNTERFACEWARE currently only offers support for running the Chameleon GUI natively on Windows. While you can deploy an application built with Chameleon on Unix, a Windows version is required to develop and modify your VMD file (i.e. your interface project file), as well as generate stubcode.

	If you have a desire in running the Chameleon GUI natively on other platforms, please send an email to sales@interfaceware.com, as we are interested in gauging the demand for Chameleon being ported to other platforms such as Linux and Mac OS X.

To deploy Chameleon on Unix:

• Install Chameleon on the machine you wish to deploy it on. For more information, please see Installing Chameleon on Unix.
• Set the necessary environment variables, depending on your language. For a full list of variables that must be set, see Chameleon Unix Environment.
• Set the Library Path Environment Variable. Just like DLLs under Windows, it's necessary for shared libraries to be included in the library path environment variable. Note that this variable is not standard for every Unix flavor. To learn about each system's name for the library path environment variable, see Variations Across Systems.
• Run your application, and verify that your application is functioning properly.
