Message Identification Exercise

After completing this exercise, you will be able to:

  • Add message definitions to a VMD file;
  • Import a library segment;
  • Edit the segment grammar of a message;
  • Specify message identities in Chameleon so that particular messages may be recognized; and
  • Use the msgtransform tool to sort a file of messages into groups of defined messages.

Before proceeding, download and save the following file into a directory of your choice so that you may use it later on for this exercise:

This file contains a few ADT^A03 and ORM^O01 messages.
