HL7 Analytical Tools

Both Chameleon and Iguana include three useful HL7 analytical tools:

• Message Browser - This is a parsing utility that allows you to browse HL7 message samples to see what the various fields contain.

• HL7 Simulator - This is a utility used for testing inbound HL7 interfaces or message routes. It functions like a simple HL7 TCP/IP client.

• HL7 Listener - This is a utility used for testing outbound HL7 interfaces or message routes. It can also be used for recording a stream of sample HL7 messages from an HL7 server.
