Creating a New Message and Message Identity

To create a new message:

• Create a new message called PatientObservation.
• Set up the Message Identity to match only the first subfield of MSH 9, as illustrated below:

• Since you want to extract data from the OBR segment, you need to import the OBR segment from the library.

After you have done that, the next step is to set up the segment grammar.
