The following sections describe how to set up some of the most commonly used
databases to interact with Iguana.
If you are using Iguana 4.0 or later, you will only need a database
You plan to populate database tables with information obtained from
HL7 messages, or
You plan to generate HL7 messages from
information contained in database tables.
If you are using a version of Iguana that is older than version 4.0,
you will need to have access to a database to create an Iguana
channel. This is because older versions of Iguana use
database tables to store channel log data.
If you are using Iguana in the Unix, Linux or Mac OS X environment and are
using MySQL or Oracle, you must ensure that the LD_LIBRARY_PATH
environment variable includes the location of your database's shared libraries.
