Important To reset your user password in Iguana you will need full access to the machine Iguana is installed on.   Resetting User Passwords in Iguana 3.3 and Lower The steps and the name of the configuration file will vary, depending on the version of Iguana that you are using. For more information, see Resetting User Passwords in Iguana 3.3 and Lower.

Iguana stores passwords in a hashed format in the configuration file called IguanaConfiguration.xml. This file is stored in the Iguana install directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\iNTERFACEWARE\Iguana).

To reset your password:

• Stop the Iguana Service in the Services window (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services).

• Make a backup of the IguanaConfiguration.xml file.

• Open the IguanaConfiguration.xml file in Notepad, or another text editor.

• Locate the entry for the admin user, which should look something like this:

	<user
          name="admin"
	  email_address=""
          password="40C38F8D22DC8EF630AFD8C4F1A0904F">
        <group
          name="test group"/>
        </user>

• Change the password attribute to the following:

          password="E3274BE5C857FB42AB72D786E281B4B8"

• Save your changes.

• Restart the Iguana service. The default password has now been reset to password. For information on how to change the password while logged in to Iguana, see the Change Password section.

	Try to select a password that is easy to remember but uses a combination of alphanumeric digits.
