Turning On the Channels

The next step is to turn on the channels from the Iguana dashboard:

• Click the Dashboard link.

• Click Start for each of the channels that you created.

If the channels are running normally, green ON indicators are displayed for each channel:

If an error has been detected, a red ERROR indicator appears.

	If you have not started the HL7 Listener, an error occurs when you start channel 2. This is because there is no counterparty currently listening at the specified host address (localhost) and port (1235) for incoming messages.

Before proceeding to the next section, delete the logs for the channel you set up by clicking the Logs tab and then the Trash Bin icon for the channel.

	If you are still having issues starting channel 2, try clicking the Start button again to see if that resolves the error. In most cases the error should resolve itself since you set the Number of Reconnection Attempts and Reconnection Interval values to relatively high numbers. This gives Iguana enough time to try and reconnect to the HL7 Listener.
