Importing Segments From the Library

Now that you have created a new VMD file, the next step is to import message segments from Chameleon's HL7 segment library:

• From the Workspace menu, select Import Segments From Library. The Import Segments From Library window appears.
• Select the Import segments from a library radio button.
• From the list box next to this radio button, select HL7 2.5.

• Click Next. A list of available segments appears:

• Select the MSH, NK1, PID and IN1 segments and click Next.
• Click Finish to complete the process. The segments are now displayed in the Segments folder of the Workspace.

The next step is to create a new message definition.
