Importing Unrecognized Segments

To import the segments from the library:

• Return to the Browser, and click the yellow panel that indicates that segments with red icons are unrecognized.
• In the drop-down menu, select the library you wish to import from and click Next. In this case, you will be importing the segments from HL7 2.3.

HL7 2.x is backwards compatible so higher versions contain a superset of all the fields available within HL7.

• Check all the segments that you want to import, and click Next > Finish to complete the process. In this case you need to import all of the segments.

	You can use the Message Browser for identifying data and also pinpointing problems. Notice that the Date of Birth is located in the wrong field - it's in the Mother's Maiden Name field.
