Global Outbound Preprocess Script

The Global Outbound Preprocess Script is executed before message generation to declare variables and functions. For example, you can use this script to define global variables for Table Outbound Scripts or Segment Outbound Scripts.

To define a Global Outbound Preprocess Script:

• Click Chameleon > Global Outbound Preprocess Script. The Global Outbound Preprocess Script window appears. Alternatively, you can press F10 on your keyboard to display the window.
• In this window, type the Global Outbound Preprocess Script.
• Click Check Syntax to verify that your indenting and spacing are correct.
• If your syntax is okay, click OK to save your changes.

Global Outbound Preprocess Script Window

The following predefined variables and functions are available for use in the Global Outbound Preprocess Script:

• The environment variable specifies methods that enable you to connect to a database or convert and format date/time values.
• Delimiter functions enable you to access the field separator, escape and repeat characters that have been defined in the Message Delimiters tab of the Options window.

Note that the value variable is not defined in Global Outbound Preprocess Script.
