To test that your channel is processing your messages properly:

• Copy a sample message into the directory specified in the Full directory path to read files from field in the Source tab of the channel. Be sure to use a copy of the message, as it will be erased when it is processed.
• In the Dashboard, click Start to start the channel. The message should be processed quickly.
• In your database, examine the SURGERY table. There should be one row in the table for each ZSD segment in the message:

	If a blank row has been added to the database, this is likely because a whitespace character at the end of the message, such as a newline character, has been treated as a separate row. Use the Global Inbound Script to fix this, or edit your file to remove the trailing character.

• In Iguana, click Logs to view the Logs screen. Scroll through the entries on this screen until you find a copy of the message. If processing is successful, you will see a log message of type Success with the message "Data committed to database".
