Resetting User Passwords in Iguana 3.3 and Lower

	Important To reset your user password in Iguana versions 3.3 and lower, you will need full access to the machine Iguana is installed on.

Iguana stores passwords in a hashed format in the configuration file called UserConfigurationVersion1.2.xml. The file is stored in the directory you installed Iguana in. For example, a default install stores the file in C:\Program Files\iNTERFACEWARE\Iguana.

To reset your password:

• Make a backup of the UserConfigurationVersion1.2.xml file.

• Open the UserConfigurationVersion1.2.xml file in Notepad.

• Change the HashedPassword attribute in the XML tag from:

<Components TRE:PolymorphicType="DBDuser" Name="admin" HashedPassword="0D968B12E19FB19B6E2E165A2CD8FFBB">

to the following:

 <Components TRE:PolymorphicType="DBDuser" Name="admin" HashedPassword="5F4DCC3B5AA765D61D8327DEB882CF99">

Notice that HashedPassword is the only attribute in the XML tag that has been changed.

• Save your changes.

• Restart Iguana for the changes to take effect.

	Try to select a password that is easy to remember but uses a combination of alphanumeric digits.
