This documentation page describes a feature of version 3.3 of Iguana. In Iguana 4.0 and later, logging has been significantly revised and improved. See Searching the Logs for more information on searching logs. | ||

The Search Logs functionality in Iguana allows you to easily search for any message in your logs.
To search for a specific log:
- Click the Logs tab. The Logs page appears.
- Click either the channel name under Successes, or channel component name under Errors to load a page that displays the logs summary for that particular category.

- Click the Search Logs link at the top of the page.

- Fill in the desired search criteria:
| Search Criteria | Description |
|---|---|
| Key | Perform a search using the message's log key (e.g. 2 to 10). This is useful if you know the log keys for a particular block of messages. |
| Timestamp | Perform a search using the message's timestamp. This is useful if you want to search for messages for a particular day, week, month, etc. Clicking the Today button automatically fills in the current date. |
| Message | Perform a search using a part or all of the message body. To search using a particular Message Identity, enter the identity as it appears in the message (e.g. ADT^A04). |
| Debug Output | Perform a search using the ACK message for Successes, or the Error Description for Errors. |
| Trace Output | Perform a search using Python output (e.g. you could search using the output obtained from running log statements in Python scripts in your VMD file). |
- When you are finished entering your desired search parameters, click the Search button. The Search Results are displayed as shown below.
