Segment identities allow you to define a rule to match one or more fields with a regular expression. For example, consider the following Segment Identity:
OBX Segment Identity
If you had another OBX segment and set up the segment identity to be Value = IN (integer), then you could easily distinguish the two types of OBX segments. The segment algorithm would look at the defined matching rules and the three-letter identifier.
To define the Segment Identity:
Under Segments, double-click the Segment you want to set up a segment identify for. The Segment window appears.
Segment Window
Click the Identity button in the top right corner of the window. The Segment Identity window appears.
Define the Segment Identity as you wish.
The Field column is a field which is being used to match upon, and
the Value column is the regular expression that will be used to match
the field.
Segments that have identities will be represented in the Chameleon Workspace as follows:
Segment[Segment ID], where Segment is the name of the segment and [Segment ID] represents the defined value for the ID (e.g. OBX[TX]).
