Setting the HL7 Version

Now that you have set the message control ID of the MSH segment, you can use the same technique to supply the HL7 version information. This information is stored in the 12th field of the MSH segment.

To set the HL7 version information:

  • In the Workspace, in the Segments section, double-click MSH. The MSH segment window appears.
  • Locate the twelfth field, named Version ID, and click the Outbound Script ellipsis button.
  • In the Editing Script window, type the following code:
value = '2.4'
