Setting the Maximum Length of a Field

To set the maximum length of the field for the new composite:

• In the Workspace, double-click SSN (the composite you created). The SSN Composite window appears.

• In the Description field, type Field Length Check.
• Under Name, type Value.
• Under Data Type, select String.
• Under Any Length, ensure that the checkbox is unchecked.
• Under Max, set the maximum length to 9 since there are 9 characters in a SSN number.

	The Max column will be uneditable for a field if the Data Type is not a primitive data type.
