Step 2 - Setting Up the VMD File |
To set up the To Database destination component for this sample channel, you must use Chameleon to create a VMD (Visual Message Definition) file. This VMD file is a mapping file that describes:
- How to identify incoming HL7 messages;
- How to extract data from them; and
- Where to place the extracted data in your database.
This step of the tutorial provides an example of how you can use Chameleon to create a VMD file.
