Configuring the HL7 Simulator

You will be using the HL7 Simulator test tool to send data to your routing interface.

To configure the HL7 Simulator:

• Open the HL7 Simulator application. (To access it, click Start, then Programs, iNTERFACEWARE, HL7 Analytical Tools and HL7 Simulator.)
• In the Host field, type localhost.
• In the Port field, type the port number that the Simulator is sending from. This must be the port number that was specified in the LLP Listener source component of channel 1.
• In the Message File field, type <install>\Chameleon\messages.txt, replacing <install> with the location of your Iguana installation directory (for example, C:\Program Files\iNTERFACEWARE\Chameleon). This contains some sample messages that you can use to test your channels.
• Select the Keep sending messages when ACK Received? check box. This ensures that the next HL7 message is sent to the server as each ACK is received.

Configuring the HL7 Simulator

• Leave everything else as is, and click the Start button. The Simulator starts sending messages.

Now, it is time to check if your data is being sent to the appropriate sub-channels and to the specified destinations.
