Step 1 - Analyzing the Differences Between HL7 Files

To analyze the differences between HL7 files:

• Open a command prompt.
• Go to the directory that you saved the sample pre- and post-translation files.
• Type the following:

D:\test>msgdiff pre_translation.txt post_translation.txt

The generated index.html file displays the number of differences between the two versions of the message. This file links to the message0.html file, which highlights those differences.
