Step 4 - Specifying the Message Identity

To specify the Message Identity:

• Double-click the Identity for the first message in the Workspace. The Message Identity window appears.

• In the Description field, enter a description if you wish.
• Choose MSH under the segment column, and then click the ellipsis (...) button in the second column to specify the specific fields in the segment. In this exercise, the required fields are Message Type.Message Code (field 9, subfield 1) and Message Type.Trigger Event (field 9, subfield 2).

• To identify the ADT^A03 messages, enter ADT in the Value column as the value to match for Message Type.Message Code and A03 for Message Type.Trigger Event.

Recall that in the beginning of the exercise that you set up two messages. So far you have only identified the first one. Repeat all the steps to set up the second message.

• Identify the second message as an ORM^O01 message, by entering ORM as the message Code and O01 as the Trigger Event.

	Note that the first character in O01 is the letter O, while the second character is the number 0. Be careful when entering characters such as these into fields because undesired results will occur if they are incorrectly entered.
