Testing Outbound Python Scripts

	This section uses the sample file that you used in the the previous section.

You can use the Transformation window to test your outbound Python scripts. Suppose that you want to add the prefix HL7- to your Receiving Application field. You can use a simple outbound script to implement this.

To implement this change:

• In the Workspace, in the Segments folder, double-click MSH (Message Header). The MSH Segment window appears.

• In the Outbound Script column, click the ... (ellipsis) button next to Field 5 - Receiving Application. Type the following:

value="HL7-" + value

• Click OK to save the change.
• In the Transformation window, click the Transform button to view the change in the bottom pane. The Receiving Application field now has a prefix of HL7-:
