Testing the GUID Generator

To test the GUID Generator:

  • Click the Transform icon in the toolbar.

The Transformation Window appears.

  • Copy the following message:

  • Paste it into the top pane of the Transformation window, as shown below:

  • Click the Transform button to generate a GUID for the Message Control ID Field. In this example, a 128-bit GUID is generated. Note that each time you click the Transform button, a new GUID is generated.

To generate a GUID for an inbound message, you would insert the same sample script in the inbound script of a specific field, or in the Global Inbound Script. To test the GUID generator, you would use the Message Browser instead of the Transformation window.
