Testing Your Table Grammar Mappings

To test your table mappings:

• Click Chameleon > Test Transformation. The Test Transformation window appears.

	Test Transformation is called Test Mapping in Chameleon versions prior to 3.3.184.

• Select the Graphical Transformation radio button.
• Copy and paste the test message into the top pane of the Transformation window, and click the Transform button. The bottom pane immediately shows if your mappings have been set up correctly, as shown below.

You will immediately notice that the PV1 segment is missing at least one value; therefore, it probably has not been correctly mapped. The next step is to use the Message Browser to find out what value is not being mapped.

To use the Message Browser to find out what value is missing:

• Click the Browse button on the toolbar. The Message Browser window appears.
• Copy and paste the test message into the top pane of the Message Browser.
• Click Parse.
• Expand PV1.
• Expand Assigned Patient Location. Notice that the missing value is the Facility composite (XYZ Imaging).

Using the Message Browser

The next step is to fix your table grammar mappings.

To fix the table grammar mappings:

• Expand the ORM_O01_LabCorp Message's definition, and double-click its Message Grammar. The Message Grammar window appears.
• In the Table Grammar panel, double-click HL7_0_PV1. The Table Mapping window appears, as shown below.

• Under Name, click the * to define a new field.
• Name the new field, Assigned_Patient_Facility.
• In the right pane, expand 3 - Assigned Patient Location(PL).
• Expand the 4 - Facility subfield.
• Click and drag Namespace ID(IS)(String) under Mapping for the Assigned_Patient_Facility field, as shown below.

Fixing the Mapping

• Go back to the Transformation window, and click the Transform button. You will notice that the result of your mapping change is reflected in real-time.
