In order to configure the To Database destination component described in the Channel Destination Components section of the manual, you need to define the properties described in the table below:

Full parser VMD path*

Specify the mapping file (VMD file) that will be used. This VMD file will be used to parse the HL7 messages received from the source component. It will also be used to determine what data to map out of these messages and what database tables to map the selected data to.

The target database will always be the database that is associated with the channel. This is the database that Iguana uses to store logging information.

Automatically purge error logs older than

Specify when error logs are stale and can be deleted. If this value is 0, error logs are never purged.

Updating Data Tables When Table Definitions Change

If you change the table definitions in the mapping VMD file, you must update the destination data tables in the database that you have specified for this channel. There are two ways to update these data tables:

Re-export the Destination Data Tables: This will drop the existing data tables and replace them with new ones. Any data in the existing tables is lost, which may lead to undesirable results. (See Exporting Tables for more details on re-exporting the destination data tables.)

Modify the existing tables to match the table definitions in the VMD file: Any columns that you add to a table definition in the VMD file must be manually added to the corresponding database table. This requires more effort, but is potentially safer.
