Validating Data for XML -> HL7 Translation

Chameleon allows you to easily validate data for XML -> Translation when using the Full Tree Validation translation scheme. When this option is enabled, Chameleon validates the data when translating messages from XML to HL7. If there is invalid XML, Chameleon will display the applicable error, its description and its line number in the bottom pane of the XML Translation Window.

	Error descriptions To learn more about full tree validation errors, see Full Tree Validation Errors.   Will the validation option work with all translation schemes? Note that you can only validate data when using the Full Tree Validation XML translation scheme. For all other translation schemes, this option will be disabled. For more information, see XML Tab.

To enable validation when using Full Tree Validation:

• Click Chameleon > Options. The Options window appears.

• Click the XML tab.

• In the XML Translation Scheme field, choose Full Tree Validation.

• Ensure the Validate Data for XML -> HL7 option is checked, and click OK to confirm your changes.

	You can easily test the validation options from the XML Translation Window.
