Iguana Scripted Transformation
Graphical mapping and our HL7 to/from database approaches are superb, however many HL7 needs can be satisfied using a simple scripted tranformation method which was previously only available in our Chameleon product.
Iguana now offers scripted transformation.
What is scripted transformation? It's a simple method to examine, change, strip, and supplement individual elements (segments, fields, sub-fields) from any inbound HL7 message to produce an outbound HL7 message. The power of Python scripting allows access to manipulate the data and even to access database capabilities.
For more details, see a simple example of scripted transformation.
For more details on data scrubbing, please click here.
Typical applications for the new transformation features:
- Siphon data from an existing HL7 connection without disturbing the existing connection and then use a copy of the data to populate databases, or feed all, part or modified messages to additional target systems.
- Store and forward where the HL7 source and the target may not be available at the same time all the time.
- A means to shunt connections quickly between production and disaster backup sites.
- Provide access to copies of data streams for development and testing without disturbing production.
Our technical staff will be pleased to discuss specific needs. See them at HIMSS 2006.
