Obtaining Iguana and Chameleon Licenses
We want licensing to be straightforward and never become an unnecessary obstacle to keeping an important system running.
Our licensing service supports both Iguana and Chameleon, including standalone Chameleon installations.
To improve reliability, we introduced two redundant licensing servers on October 12, 2026. Either server can be used to generate license codes.
How to Obtain a License Code
You will need:
- Customer ID — Your iNTERFACEWARE customer identifier.
- Iguana ID or Machine ID — The identifier for the installation you want to license.
If you don't have a Customer ID, contact licensing@interfaceware.com.
1. Find your Iguana ID or Machine ID
For Iguana, you can find your unique Iguana ID on the licensing page of your Iguana instance.
For standalone Chameleon installations, use the Machine ID associated with your installation.
If you need an Iguana installer, visit our Downloads page.
2. Generate your license code
Visit either of our licensing servers:
Enter your Customer ID and Iguana ID or Machine ID to obtain your license code.
Both servers provide access to the licensing service, giving customers an alternative if one server is unavailable.
Chameleon Licensing
Chameleon is included with Iguana for Windows, but it can also be licensed independently.
Our rebuilt licensing service supports generating standalone Chameleon license codes without requiring an Iguana installation.

Reliable Licensing Infrastructure
We've rebuilt our licensing infrastructure to make it simpler, more resilient, and easier to maintain.
The system uses two independent servers, lightweight Git-based data storage, and automated provisioning to make recovery straightforward.
Our approach reflects a broader engineering philosophy: reduce unnecessary complexity, minimize dependencies, and make existing systems easier to support over the long term.
