Global leader in human plasma-derived therapeutics
Octapharma Plasma operates more than 140 plasma donation centers across the United States and Europe, supplying plasma used to produce life-saving treatments for people with immune disorders and bleeding conditions.
To support this mission, Octapharma uses Iguana as their central integration engine, managing over 300 live data interfaces that connect NexLynk DMS (Haemonetics) systems at plasma centers to downstream lab, payment, and processing platforms. Iguana facilitates real-time message flow between these systems, automating what was once a highly manual, paper-based process.
Before implementing Iguana, much of the data flow was disconnected. As Christian Christian, Senior Automated Systems Analyst, explains:
“Before Iguana, there was no connection — a lot of the stuff was done on paper. Now we can communicate electronically. Paper compared to electronic — there's no comparison.”
Octapharma's integration infrastructure is also designed for high availability and operational resilience, with load balancing and uptime safeguards that ensure round-the-clock continuity across critical donor operations.
Day to day, Iguana’s flexibility, protocol support, and observability features continue to deliver measurable value.
“The value Iguana offers Octapharma is invaluable. The ability to connect to so many different third-party softwares using different forms of communication — from SFTP to RESTful APIs — makes the job so much easier.”
With a growing platform and continued partnership, Octapharma relies on Iguana to enable secure, scalable, and modern integration workflows across its global plasma collection network.
