Regulation Needs to Go

The COVID crisis exposed just how badly broken North American healthcare is. The Canadian system, in particular, was spectacularly incompetent, leading to the worst lockdowns on the continent.

Why was it so bad?

The systems are intensely hierarchical, bureaucratic, and centralized, with almost no real flexibility.

COVID was essentially a bad cold.

The next crisis will be much worse. I don’t think COVID was a deliberately released virus. But the next time around, I think we’re going to see something much, much worse.

Why is that? I cannot believe how many people missed some really key events that happened during the crisis. The attention was focused on all the wrong things. It’s not important where this particular virus came from. It’s not particularly significant that most of our governments forced us to take the vaccine.

I wanted mine—I got three doses of the Pfizer one, one of my valued customers. Pfizer, like all of us, is a distinctly grey organization.

Neither good nor evil, merely a large corporation driven by economic incentives. It will respond to whatever incentives exist. I am not about to rant about big farma. No I just want to focus on the technology and what the implications of mRNA vaccines are.

No, let’s focus on what was truly interesting in a truly frightening way. But let’s be honest—once technology is discovered, it cannot be undiscovered. We have to deal with the consequences.
