Human DNA is the molecule that carries our genetic instructions.
It is organized into 23 pairs of chromosomes (46 total) in most cells.
Each person inherits half their DNA from their mother and half from their father.
The human genome consists of about 3 billion base pairs.
About 99.9% of human DNA is identical from person to person; the remaining differences account for individual uniqueness.

Now, let’s bring up the concept of pedigree collapse:
