I try to use very uniform repeatable ways of storing material in my home.

They aren't that expensive and I use them extensively organize tools, electrical components, switches, bulbs, cords, vacuum cleaner parts and so on.

They make it easy to keep projects organized and know where to find your resources.

When you find a storage mechanism you like, buy a lot of it so the manufacturer doesn't frustrate you by going out of business.
